Terms of Service

By creating an account or using BarkMind, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the platform. These terms may be updated; continued use after updates constitutes acceptance.

BarkMind is a research platform for structured canine behavioral data. It is not a pet social network, a diagnostic service, or a substitute for direct professional assessment. Annotations and resolutions on BarkMind are behavioral observations and professional opinions, not clinical diagnoses.

You must be 18 years or older to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your credentials. You may not create accounts for others or use BarkMind on behalf of an organization without authorization.

Your username will appear permanently on all content you create. Choose a username that reflects your professional identity — it cannot be changed after contribution activity begins without administrator assistance.

All content submitted to BarkMind must:

• Describe real behavioral incidents from professional practice or direct observation
• Be factually accurate to the best of your knowledge
• Use the platform's behavioral vocabulary appropriately
• Not include identifying information about individuals without their consent
• Not include content that violates animal welfare laws

Expert credentials listed on your profile must be genuine. Misrepresentation of credentials is grounds for immediate account termination.

You may not use BarkMind to: submit fabricated or substantially inaccurate behavioral data; attempt to manipulate the consensus system; scrape or redistribute platform data in violation of the Data Usage Policy; reverse engineer platform security or governance systems; submit harmful, harassing, or inappropriate content.

You retain ownership of the content you create. By submitting content to BarkMind, you grant the platform a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide license to store, display, include in exports, and use your content for the platform's stated research purposes. See the Contributor Terms for full details.

Evidence-locked content is immutable by design. You cannot withdraw content from a locked case after evidence lock occurs.

We may terminate accounts that violate these terms, particularly for credential misrepresentation or submission of fabricated data. Non-locked contributions from terminated accounts may be removed. Evidence-locked contributions are retained with attribution.

You may close your account at any time by contacting us.

BarkMind is provided “as is” without warranty. We are not liable for any decisions made based on platform content. Behavioral annotations and expert resolutions are professional opinions and should not substitute for direct professional assessment of any specific animal.

Our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of New Brunswick, Canada. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of New Brunswick.
